The overall impact of the Covid -19 pandemic is undeniable. It already had and will continue to have both a positive or negative impact on the businesses. Almost, all types of businesses whether it is small, medium, or big are affected by it.
Well, the local or global crisis (Covid-19) hurt or hurting businesses but not all are losing money. Let’s take a look at some corporate winners here.
Positive Impact
Now with more people working from home demand for technology that enables online group meetings have been growing rapidly.
For example, most of the projects and official tasks of clients and corporate businesses are fully remote. The shares and video conferencing companies like, “Zoom” have risen by 50 % since the pandemic (February). This is the same app about which maybe a month ago only a few people or professionals had heard of.
Similarly, the demand for TV shows and movies to watch at home has soared so much, also streaming services like Netflix and YouTube are reducing the quality of their streaming in Europe to ease pressure on the internet while supermarkets also say that they are busier than ever.
Besides, online sales are up by almost a quarter as millions of people are giving preference to purchasing things online over offline shopping. For example, all of sudden the companies like Flipkart and Amazon see surges in demand when lockdown is opened.
Whereas, thousands of people are turning to online fitness classes and home workouts which results in a rise of 14% in home gym equipment supplies.
Negative Impact
Since the pandemic, almost all companies have been following the correct trend what given them an enormous surge. However, there a list of industries badly hit by this coronavirus impact.
Educational Institutes and Online Restaurants
You can look at the education sector that remained closed since the pandemic but e-learning is on the hike. Besides, restaurants and hotels, events, and many more are in the line. Also, there seemed a decline in the number of online food orders from Zomato, Swiggy, and other online sites.
Tourism industry
In the Tourism industry also, the things have changed since the pandemic and are still changing day by day. For instance, some countries like the U.S. has banned to travel to such countries having higher risks. Further, the interest of people in cheap flight tickets has grown up by 90%.
Pharmaceutical Sector
In the pharmaceutical sector, people feel very scared of getting into the hospitals where these COVID patients are present. The doctors and health care personnel like nurses are all busy in the treatment of Covid patients. Also, in some hospitals certain departments have closed down because of this infection.
For example, in some medical institutes, the entire cardiology department was closed down. In the initial days, the governments said that they would treat these patients only in big hospitals in the government sector which then resulted in the exhausted condition of doctors and care units because of long hours of tiring shifts. The ventilators, beds, and other healthcareequipment were left limited. After then, Covid patients are allowed to be admitted to private hospitals.
